Krok Piskiego Stylu - Review

1st Day – Hitting the Road

My day started at 5:00 AM with a bus ride and than a train travel with PKP (Polish Railway Co.). I soon reached Piaseczno (City near Poland’s capital Warsaw) where I was arranged to meet with Mc Rufin my fellow traveler. Rufin (who was our driver for that day) informed me, that we are going to visit several cities and villages to collect information about his family roots. Frankly, I was quite amazed by that idea. Our search was quite fruitful as we looked through city halls, churches and cemeteries for any piece of information. People looked at us with a strange suspicion when we looked through overgrown graves of Rufin’s ancestors.

We finally reached Pisz (our destination) at 23:00 PM. At Stomal’s house (our friend) we were surprised by a party that was going on inside a house as well as outside near the barbeque. The place had a great vibe thanks to all party people involved. For me and Rufin the party didn’t last long. Our vital energy was almost out of stock, so after such a long day we only wanted to get to pleasant sleep.

2nd Day

The first thing we saw after waking up was the mess left after the before party. Conversation helped us to get through the cleaning. After some funny stories, it was time to see the city and eat our breakfast-lunch (if you are a judge it happens a lot that you eat anything in the meantime) and get to the place where competition will be held. Everything was ready, beginning with the stage, place for audience, space for dj’s, and comfortable couch for the judges. The walls of the building were occupied by writers involved in graffiti jam.

After the acoustics have been prepared it was time to introduce everyone involved in making this event happened. Mc Rufin (same guy who was my driver) was the host of the competition. On the wheels of steel we got Dj Horba and Beret. The judges for that night with whom I had a pleasure to chill were Wezyr (NASA CREW) and Jezior (Lajony Kingz Crew). When the first round of the main event was finished, two crews that made it to semi-final and second squad of Most Broken Crew showed that the competition was for real and no hostages will be taken. In the semi-final we could see very interesting battles of such crews as: BAT, Freakish Style, Funkrockass, and Kingz of Warsaw. Both battles: BAT vs Freakish Style as well as Funkrockass vs Kingz of Warsaw represented very high skills level. KOW and FS made it to the final.

Just before the final a person that we would like to call ‘a friend of the event’ with his right hand in gypsum and beer in the left hand gave his ‘drink of gods’ to a girl standing next to him. His next move was to climb on the crash barrier and screamed happily ‘SHOW US YOUR FANTASY !!!‘ – and those words begun the final battle.



The 3 round final was won by Kingz of Warsaw (Dep One, Turtle Rock, Pepe). One of the interesting things that happened that day was anecdotes and jokes which the host of that night told the audience. No stagnation on the dance floor was allowed. If it happened Mc Rufin almost immediately spin the bottle that indicated what crew should start. Rufin is known of the habit of kicking the bottle and making it rotate. However, first time when he kicked the bottle it hit one of the event photographers, who were standing near the stage in the chest. Second kick which is now quite famous caused a spill of water all over the floor

When the bboy contest was officially finished it was time for concerts including: Zielone Płuca Polski (Green Lungs of Poland), Skorup, Hi Fi Banda and the star of that night Eldo. After concerts we went to take a quick shower and get ready for the after party. In the meantime we decided to visit one of local 24/h stores to buy water. My two friends Fizyk and Wach went inside and i decided to stay outside the store. I was left with two video cameras and didn’t see what was coming. Local people immediately approached to me and started to ask questions like: where are you from and to who i came to visit. When i told them that i came to see Stomal they give me a little of respect. However, when i told them that I’m from Kielce and came all the way to Pisz for Eldo concert their reaction was like: „OMG man! You had such a long trip“. After that answer i received a lot of high fives.

After party

It was time to celebrate with my friends one hell of a party. After party was held at Club at the Lake. I think i don’t need to talk about the vibe of such moments because everyone knows what it feels like.  Drunken Style Top Rock Contest was held at the after party and Bgirl Lady Flow representing Most Broken Crew showed true drunk style skills.
